I finally got around to replacing the thermostat in the minivan. It was much easier than I t hought . I figured the access would be really tight, but it wasn’t bad at all.
That is the new one down there, the black plastic part that looks new with a blue dot on it.
Old one that was stuck open.
Le ss than thirty minutes, half a gallon of antifreeze, and really minimal clean up.

Yeah they made it suprisingly easy on the 3.6

That’s almost as easy as on my car, and that’s saying something (you can just see it there on the bottom left)

My wife’s 2005 Chrysler T & C was comically easy to change the thermostat. Right at the top of the engine. A couple of bolts and it comes right out of the upper rad hose. Didn’t even need to drain coolant.
